Paco Rabanne creative director Julien Dossena is the next designer for the guest couturier program of Jean Paul Gaultier. After Sacia’s Chitose Abe, Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, Y/Project and Diesel’s Glenn Martens, and Ackermann, now it's the turn of Dossena to unveil the collection during the Fall 2023 couture season, in July 2023 in Paris.
Julien Dossena takes the helm at Paco Rabanne in 2014, by giving it a young aesthetic. Dossena studied art history at the École Superieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré in Paris, while in 2007, after receiving his diploma from the Ecole de la Cambre in Brussels, Julien begins working for Chloé and Alexander McQueen. After graduating he joined Nicolas Ghesquière’s team at Balenciaga as an intern, working alongside Nicolas Ghesquière for four years until it became a senior designer at the brand. He left the Kering luxury group after Ghesquière departed in 2012 and founded his own label Atto. In 2013 he began his collaboration with Paco Rabanne, owned by Spanish house Puig, as creative director and made a debut in spring 2014.
Dossena is a 2014 Lvmh prize finalist. Still a student, he won the special jury prize at the Festival d'Hyeres. While in 2016, he was appointed president of the fashion jury at the 31st edition of the Hyères Festival.
