The ITS Arcademy of Trieste, the first contemporary fashion museum in Italy has officially opened its doors and inaugurated its programme with “The First Exhibition - 20 Years of Contemporary Fashion Evolution'' curated by the fashion historian Olivier Saillard.

Joining ITS Foundation President Barbara Franchin, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Culture Lucia Bergonzoni, who said: “I am here today to inaugurate with you a museum of international appeal that will become a house of contemporary creativity, nurturing the genius of young talents who express their art through the universal language of fashion and the creation of unique works. This is an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of creation in Italy and the enhancement and promotion of places that can testify to the cultural value of the fashion industry, a sector in which Italy excels”.

The First Exhibition represents an extraordinary opportunity to explore rare early creations by some of the most talented fashion, accessories and jewellery designers of the last two decades. Early works by Demna, Matthieu Blazy, Nicolas di Felice and Richard Quinn are among the over 100 items on display.
