LuisaViaRoma, in collaboration with British Vogue and Edward Enninful OBE, editor-in-chief of British Vogue and editorial director of Vogue Europe, presented “Runway Icons”, a special fashion show at piazza Michelangelo, Florence. The event retraced the evolution of fashion and style over the decades, creating a visual dialogue between past and present.
For the event, emerging and established labels, including the likes of Bottega Veneta, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Alberta Ferretti, Loewe, JW Anderson, Giambattista Valli and Valentino, created some looks mixing their heritage with their contemporary DNA.
At the opening of the event, an exclusive performance overlooking the city by the famous artist Andrea Bocelli who, for the occasion, performed four pieces accompanied by piano and voice.
Within the historical setting of Piazzale Michelangelo and on the notes of the soundtrack signed by Hale Zero, around 1500 guests from the world of creativity and fashion attended the fashion show with more than seventy models on the catwalk, as well as friends from LuisaViaRoma and British Vogue.
For the realization of the event, LuisaViaRoma and British Vogue brought together the industry's legends, including Casting Director Piergiorgio Del Moro, makeup artist Pat McGrath and hair stylist Sam McKnight.
LuisaViaRoma celebrates this special event with a series of Capsule Collection Drops in collaboration with a selection of brands, including 16Arlington, Alexander Mcqueen, Alexandre Vauthier, Amina Muaddi, Blumarine, Christian Louboutin, Coperni, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo, Giorgio Armani, Jimmy Choo, Magda Butrym, Max Mara, Moncler, Mugler, Nensi Dojaka, Paco Rabanne, Ray-Ban, Tom Ford, Victoria Beckham, Vivienne Westwood, and Zimmermann. Every Thursday, starting from June 15 until November 2023, LuisaViaRoma will dedicate a section of the site to the launch of a special collaborative capsule.
