The new edition of Italian Fashion Days in Korea, the exhibition appointment showcasing a selection of Italian companies to the Korean market, takes place from July Tuesday 18 to Thursday 20, 2023, in Seoul, at the new location of Coex, the best-known exhibition center in Gangnam. The event sees as many as 53 Italian brands as protagonists with women's and men's spring/summer 2024 collections: clothing, footwear, accessories, fur, and leather goods.

Also, this edition of Italian Fashion Days in Korea is organized in collaboration with Ente Moda Italia, the Italian Fur Association, Assocalzaturifici, Assopellettieri, Sistema Moda Italia, in partnership with Bottega Italia. The event, strongly desired by the Italian Embassy in Seoul, is organized in partnership with ICE, which coordinates the promotion of the event on-site and contributes to the project through the ICE Fiere Smart 365 digital platform, dedicated to giving visibility to Italian companies on international markets.

The new location marks an important difference compared to the past," said Alberto Scaccioni, managing director of Ente Moda Italia. "Coex is an exhibition center in the heart of Gangnam, the district where the most important buyers work; it is a large and well-connected structure offering excellent growth opportunities for the event. After all, the market works, and companies are responding well, just look at the increase in numbers for this edition. We look forward to great feedback and further development.

An increasingly interesting market that has made this event an unmissable event both for our companies and Korean buyers," commented Roberto Tadini, president of the Italian Fur Association. The choice of the new location will allow the event to continue growing and strengthen commercial relations.”

La Moda Italiana@Seoul is a fundamental safeguard for footwear companies because it represents an opportunity for meeting and discussion with the major players in distribution on the market”, declared the regent president of Assocalzaturifici Giovanna Ceolini. "Despite the uncertain scenarios globally, attributable to the cost of raw materials and energy, in addition to the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the exports of our companies to Korea in the first quarter of the year recorded growth both in value (+21.9%) and in quantity (+2.9%) compared to the same period of 2022. We are also talking about a respectable market. The average price per pair of shoes is among the highest ever (180.42 euros) in the circle of the main destination markets for Made in Italy footwear, with a positive performance ( +18.2%)".

"For leather goods, South Korea is an important market which particularly appreciates the unique characteristics of our products, the craftsmanship, the quality of the materials and workmanship", added Franco Gabbrielli, president of Assopellettieri. “Today is the fourth country for Italian exports of leather goods (for a value of over one million euros, up by 30% compared to 2021 and up by around 58% compared to 2019 and therefore pre-covid). We are convinced that this country will continue to ensure excellent satisfaction for our companies, and we are happy to present ourselves together with the other associations and bodies of the Italian fashion system to provide a complete vision of our fashion panorama".

"This project in South Korea underlines, also thanks to consistent, harmonious, and strong participation," concluded Sergio Tamborini, president of Sistema Moda Italia. "The weight that our country plays on the global fashion scenario, grouping companies in the Italian fashion sector under the flag of Made in Italy."
