Phoebe Philo’s long awaited return to the industry is nearly here.
In June 2021, the designer announced plans to launch her eponymous label, three years after stepping down as creative director of Celine, the French luxury house owned by LVMH, which has taken a minority stake in her new venture.
After nearly two years of speculation, a brand Instagram appeared with her name in a serif logo with a single post that stated the new collection will be live and more importantly, available to shop, in September 2023.
“Our inaugural collection will be revealed and available on our website, phoebephilo.com, in September 2023,” the brand shared. “We will be opening for registration in July 2023 and look forward to being back in touch then.”
If the initial responses to today’s Instagram announcement is anything to go by, Philo still has a captivated audience.
“Being in my studio and making once again has been both exciting and incredibly fulfilling”, Philo said in a statement after her comeback was announced. “I am very much looking forward to being back in touch with my audience and people everywhere. To be independent, to govern and experiment on my own terms is hugely significant to me.”
