Paris is gearing up for an effervescent spring summer 2024 women’s session that will see the return of Valentino after the experience in Milan last June, Maison Margiela and Mugler, the reconfirmation of Japanese brands such as Comme des Garçons, Junya Watanabe, Issey Miyake, Noir Kei Ninomiya and the debut of the Italian label Marni, according to the provisional schedule released by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.
Set to run from Sept. 25 to Oct. 3, 2023, Paris Fashion Week will offer 67 fashion shows and 41 presentations with their digital events broadcast on the federation's website.
Kicking off the nine-day schedule is the Belgian label Marie Adam-Leenaerdt, who will open the spring summer 2024 season at 4 p.m. for the first time. The brand is part of the ten new entries making their debut in this edition. Among them, Casablanca, Kiki Kostantinov and Peter Do, recently appointed Helmut Lang creative director showing his first collection during New York Fashion Week.
The spring summer 2024 session will also see four labels put on their first on-schedule presentations.
Among them are Quira, the Italian contemporary brand founded in 2020 by Veronica Leoni, finalist at the Lvmh Prize 2023.
Leoni worked in close proximity with the German designer Jil Sander and Celine’s Phoebe Philo as head designer of the knitwear line. She also was creative director of womenswear at the Moncler 1952 line and is consulting for The Row. Quira is her solo project launched after cutting its teeth in the fashion industry. She has gained increasing recognition thanks the prize promoted by the French luxury conglomerate Lvmh, the most prestigious award that every fashion talents aspire for financial support.
British designer Louise Trotter will make his runway debut as creative director of Carven on Sept. 30 at 10,30 a.m. Carven has been absent from the runways and without a reference designer for several years. The designer will present clothes with a new simplicity that are both purposeful and beautiful, whilst being kind to people and our environment. Lanvin decided not to show its collection, but has opted for a presentation on Sept. 28 from 11:00 a.am. to 3:00 p.m. On the same day will be the turn of Paco Rabanne, that abbreviated its name to simply Rabanne since last June implementing a plan of global expansion.
