On the occasion of Milan Fashion Week scheduled from September 19 to 25, 2023, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana presents a new edition of the Fashion Hub, a meeting place and hotbed of innovative projects, open to the public and the city of Milan. The project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and by Ice-Agenzia, which have always supported innovative start-ups and emerging brands.
For this edition the Fashion Hub will be set up at Palazzo Giureconsulti, a prestigious stage in the heart of Milan. The Fashion Hub will host a series of initiatives and activities focused on descovering and promoting young talents, who in this special place will have the opportunity to meet the most important players in the fashion system.
The activities and projects planned for the new edition of the Fashion Hub leverage the fundamental values of Cnmi, including experimentation, innovation, craftsmanship, sustainability, inclusion and education.
The projects at the Fashion Hub in this edition are: Designers for the Planet, A Global Movement to Uplift Underrepresented Brands, Birimian Collective, Mfw Forward.
The Designers For The Planet project sees the involvement of 8 brands that follow sustainable principles in their collections. The designers were selected by a technical jury, chaired by Carlo Capasa, president of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion and composed of Beppe Angiolini, founder & owner Sugar; Francesca Busi, fashion content creator; Tassili Calatroni, photographer; Ramona Tabita, fashion stylist; and Veronica Tonini, ceo and Vice President of Arb Sbpa. The 8 participants selected for this edition are Escvdo, Felipe Fiallo, Liwen Liang, Ok Kino, Pairi Daeza, Trashy Clothing, Viapiave33, Young n sang. Special guest of the project will be the Fatra brand in collaboration with Wami.
A Global Movement To Uplift Underrepresented Brands is a project created by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana in collaboration with Teneisha Carr, editor-in-chief of Blanc Magazine. The project was conceived to enhance multiculturalism in the fashion sector, giving visibility and professional opportunities to underrepresented designers, with the aim of promoting a culture based on the valorization of diversity and inclusion. In fact, during this presentation event organized during fashion week, a key moment for the sector at an international level, there will be many opportunities to get in touch and cultivate relationships with sector professionals. For this edition the protagonist designers of this project will be: BruceGlen and eliEls.
The Birimian Collective project, realized thanks to Birimian Collective Ventures, a financial institution that supports emerging designers inspired by African heritage and craftsmanship, will present in collaboration with Cnmi a selection of three local brands: Chez Nous, Lafalaise Dion, Renwa. Designers will have the opportunity to exhibit their collections for the entire Fashion Week and come into contact with important interlocutors of the fashion system.
The Mfw Forward project includes a selection of designers chosen for the attention paid to research, innovation and experimentation, intercepting new trends and cultural changes. Brands presenting the collections include Ara Lumiere, Ascend Beyond, Endelea, Futuro Remoto, Nkwo, San Andres Milano, Sake.
Inside the Fashion Hub, a room dedicated to Afterpay will host a selection of items from the brands Artknit Studios, Acbc, Lil Milan, each of which will interpret with their collections the answer to the question "What is sustainability for you?".
Another room will be dedicated to the Fantabody X Dhl Express project, which bases its creative process on elements of sustainability and inclusiveness. The capsule collection of 3 looks created by Fantabody exclusively for Dhl will be presented within this space.
For the second time, the Giureconsulti parliament room will host a rich program of Educational Talks about sustainability, nature, diversity, equity & inclusion, media & entertainment, craftsmanship, and cultural changes.
