ApritiModa, a journey to discover the excellence of the made in Italy, returns on October 21 and 22 with over 100 companies ready to open their doors and reveal the secrets of Italian fashion. Realities scattered throughout the national territory, from north to south, joined by a common denominator: the work of artisans, laboratories and large companies in the sector that every day, thanks to attention to detail, ensure that clothes, footwear and accessories are among the examples of Italian excellence in the world.
The protagonist of this seventh edition, created by journalist Cinzia Sasso, is Italian sports fashion. This year, infact, for the first time, the public will also have the opportunity to discover those places where fashion meets sport and innovation intertwines with beauty.
Among the new entries of this edition there are companies that have made the history of sports clothing and accessories; realities, such as the Moon Boots by Tecnica Group, which have allowed Italian après-ski to enter the history of costume so much so that they exhibited at the Moma in New York; companies, such as Fila, which have dressed ski champions; there are those, like Uyn, who create the underwear worn by the champions during their competitions; who, like Salice, have held the secret of knowing how to make ski goggles for champions for over a century.
There are companies with fascinating stories to tell, even outside the sport field, including families that hand on knowledge and love for manual work; the masters who create sculpture-jewels by working and weaving Murano glass beads by hand; professionals who produce headbands, headdresses, hand-painted silk flowers, turbans and jewelery that tell of a great love for the history of art; women who beat silk, broom and wool with their loom, giving life to unique creations. Finally, to end up with companies that have already earned a place in the global fashion panorama, one thanks to the art of embroidery with which it embellishes children's creations, the other for the mastery of those knitted creations which have become a perfect combination of wires, lights, and wearable art.
There will also be companies that have been participating in the initiative for several years, which will open up the doors of their manufacturing plants, including Armani, Dolce&Gabbana, Loro Piana, Zegna, Fratelli Rossetti that turns 70 this year. Small workshops will also be present, such as Pino Grasso Ricami, Gallia&Peter Cappelli, the Ombrellificio Maglia, the Omega glove maker from Naples who sells in Fifth Street, just to name a few.
The collaboration between Naba, the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti and ApritiModa has also been renewed, which this year took the form of a contest, launched to the students of the Academy together with the Consortium for the protection of the Prosecco Doc. Naba Ba, Ma and Academic Master students asked to develop a label for a limited edition of Prosecco Doc and Prosecco Doc Rosé. The best proposal leads to the production of bottles dressed with ad hoc designed labels, distributed on several occasions during the events held on October 21 and 22.
ApritiModa is a free event open to the public. You can choose your own guided and free visit by booking on the website apritimoda.it.
