Fashion Trust U.S., the nonprofit initiative dedicated to discovering, funding, and nurturing young design talent to help them build their label into a thriving global brand, founded by Tania Fares, a Lebanese fashion writer who lives between Lebanon, London, and L.A., announced its 2024 winners for the second annual FTUS Awards during a ceremony held in Los Angeles at The West Hollywood Edition.
The finalists were chosen by board members Tania Fares, Laura Brown, Karla Welch, Tan France, Maha Dakhil, and Anne Crawford, with support from presenting sponsor Shop with Google. Hosted by Zooey Deschanel, the prizes included awards for ready-to-wear, jewelry, accessories, and recent graduates, with two special award categories inclusivity and sustainability. These were selected by the board and also advisory members including designers Maria Cornejo, Tory Burcg, Phillip Lim, Miranda Kerr, and Isabel Marant, ambassadors, and founding patrons. Fashion Trust U.S. winners receive grants of between $100,000 and $200,000, depending on the size of their business and annual turnover, as well as mentoring. Both U.S. citizens and noncitizens are eligible to participate, but businesses must be based and registered in the U.S., employ American creators and workers, and exist for a minimum of two years and a maximum of seven years.
