Giorgio Possagno is Assocalzaturifici's new general manager

Giorgio Possagno is the new general manager of Assocalzaturifici, the association that groups together about 500 Italian footwear manufacturing companies.

The new managing director is 53 years old, has a degree in Law from the University of Parma, with a “Master Certificate on Industrial Property Protection,” and specializes in “Sustainable business model: creation and implementation of corporate sustainability models” at the Ca' Foscari Challenge school in Venice in collaboration with Ernst&Young.

He began his career in Pirelli, working in the Milan offices and from 2002 in São Paulo site in Brazil, before moving to the telecommunications company Tim Brasil at the Rio de Janeiro office. He returned to Telecom Italia in 2012 and worked for Veronafiere Group as general manager of Veronafiere Servizi S.p.A. since 2013. From 2019 until today, he has been ceo of Polo Fieristico Veronese S.p.A.

“I thank president Giovanna Ceolini, the presidency and the board of Assocalzaturifici and Anci Servizi, for the trust that has placed in me with this appointment,” said Possagno, general director of Assocalzaturifici and ceo of Anci Servizi. “Assuming this role within a reality that markedly represents the excellence of the Italian footwear manufacturing sector is undoubtedly an important responsibility. We will embark on the new path to continue to grow and innovate in-house services and products, keeping at the center the mission of bringing even the smallest distances there may be between the many manufacturing districts.”
