“Resonance: Voices of Seoul” is a first-ever showcase in Milan that delves into contemporary Korean fashion through the work of five visionary designers from Seoul. This event, which takes place on the occasion of Milan Fashion Week from September 17 to 22, 2024, celebrates the unique heritage of Korean design, showcased through contemporary interpretations that highlight the core values of resilience, connection, and intangible heritage, central to the theme of Resonance.
This presentation is directed by Cathy Lee, global creative director of Seoul Fashion Week. Exhibition Overview: “Resonance: Voices of Seoul” explores Korea’s global influence and innovation in fashion as interpreted by five Korean designers. Each has crafted a collection that not only reflects their individual aesthetic but also embodies the theme of Resonance, amplifying the voices of contemporary Korean fashion. The exhibition will feature exclusive pieces demonstrating the high quality of Korean craftsmanship integrated with contemporary design while upholding the values of sustainability, diversity, and community outlined in the collaboration manifesto between the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI).
Featured designers: Bonbom, EENK, Julycolumn, MMAM, Youser.
BONBOM
Renowned for his innovative approach to silhouettes, Bonbom merges avant-garde design with the meticulous detail of classic tailoring. This season, the brand reinterprets classic forms to create a bold, new collection that is fantasy-made into reality.
EENK
Under the creative direction of Lee Hyemee, EENK presents the “A for Aesthetics” collection, a tribute to vintage classics and tradition. This collection draws inspiration from their own archive, incorporating intricate details like Bojagi-inspired elements and color palette.
JULYCOLUMN
Founded by sisters Sooy and Jay, Julycolumn brings their signature balance of femininity and tradition to their new collection. The latest collection honors Korean craftsmanship through timeless, trans-seasonal pieces that reflect both historical influences and contemporary design sensibilities.
MMAM
Short for Maison Modern Art Museum, MMAM transforms the playful and subconscious aspects of childhood into wearable art. The brand’s SS2025 collection blurs the lines between boundaries, offering timeless, gender-neutral pieces that express the beauty of asymmetry and dualities.
YOUSER
Directed by Lee Mooyeol, Youser reimagines fashion through a surrealist lens, blending science fiction with contemporary design. The SS2025 collection explores the harmony between 2D and 3D dimensions, redefining traditional patterns and introducing new relationships within the fabric of fashion.
