An event of major importance given that Ordos, the city of Genghis Khan's Mausoleum, located in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China, is considered the world capital of high-quality, if not the best, cashmere. More than ten high-end cashmere brands, including Erdos Cashmere Group, Yin Xin Cashmere, Xin Mu Long Cashmere and Lamy Cashmere, presented their products on September 26, 2024 at the Tranoî trade show of the Palais Brongniart on September 26, 2024.
The event was initiated and hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Ordos City Committee (hereinafter referred to as "Ordos CCPIT") and organized by GL Events Pengcheng Co., Ltd. Building on Ordos' resource advantages and leveraging the global fashion network of GL Events Group, the event aims to help Ordos' high-quality cashmere companies and specialty products enter the European market, accelerating the opening of a new chapter in Ordos' journey to "build a world-class cashmere industry.
The Ordos Cashmere Fashion Day event consists of a city industry promotion conference focused on the cashmere industry supply chain, a fashion show featuring premium cashmere brands from Ordos, and a trade exhibition showcasing over ten leading enterprises from Ordos' entire cashmere supply chain, alongside a Sino-French business exchange forum.
This event coincides with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, and the Ordos trade delegation's exhibition, trade exchanges, and promotional activities in France actively respond to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade's "Thousands of Enterprises Going Global" initiative, helping businesses explore overseas markets and fostering mutual economic engagement between China and France.
At the start of the Ordos Cashmere Industry Chain European Promotion Conference, Ms. Su Cuifang, vice chairwoman of the Ordos municipal committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, stated that this event not only marks the first time that a group of Chinese cashmere brands has been included in the schedule of Paris Fashion Week, but also represents a historic breakthrough for the Ordos cashmere industry as it steps onto the international fashion stage. Mr. Li Wenguo, deputy representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Representative Office in France and secretary-general of the France-China Chamber of Commerce, emphasized during the conference the potential for cooperation between China and France in the cashmere industry and other sectors. He expressed the shared vision of CCPIT and the France-China Chamber of Commerce to further promote collaboration between the two countries' industrial chains.
At the end of the conference, the Ordos City Chamber of Commerce signed a letter of intent for cooperation with Tranoï. Both parties will collaborate through exhibition partnerships, design exchanges, market promotion, trade negotiations, and fashion trend research, enhancing the international visibility of Ordos City's cashmere industry and supporting the new qualitative development of Chinese cashmere brands on the global fashion stage.
