Shanghai Fashion Week’s 2025 Spring Summer edition, themed “EMERGING GRACE”, will officially kick off on October 9, 2024, highlighting the new energy of Chinese design and collaborating with influential international brands to promote global fashion industry cooperation and to become a stage for key players across the industry ecosystem.
As a leading figure in Chinese fashion, Lu Yan will open this season with her brand, Comme Moi. The collection, inspired by contemporary artist James Turrell, presents a dramatic interplay of light and color, creating a unique visual experience. Comme Moi will once again connect with its multifaceted vision of modern womanhood, showcasing a confident and self-expressive attitude that ties into the rhythm of its new collection.
The closing show will feature the renowned British designer brand Vivienne Westwood. As one of the few remaining independent fashion houses, Vivienne Westwood embodies punk’s rebellious spirit and continues its commitment to environmental awareness through the Vivienne Westwood Foundation.
Chinese designer Angel Chen returns to Shanghai Fashion Week with her label Angel Chen, this time collaborating with Chinese beverage brand Chagee to bring together traditional craftsmanship and modern design, offering a fresh interpretation of Chinese aesthetics.
Staffonly, Xiaoli, Judyhua, Short Sentence, DDamowang and Pantterfly will take center stage at the main venue Xintiandi, exemplifying the vibrant diversity and innovative spirit of Chinese design. Emerging designers such as Ya Yi, Hanqing Ding and J E Cai will make their debuts in the main venue, showcasing unique and innovative perspectives.
Sustainability remains at the core of Shanghai Fashion Week’s mission. This edition will stage a pioneering sustainable fashion show, using eco-friendly materials, minimizing waste, and implementing recycling practices. By adopting these environmental, social and governance (ESG) solutions, Shanghai Fashion Week aims to inspire more fashion brands to engage in green initiatives and lead the fashion industry towards a more sustainable future.
Labelhood will take place at Rockbund with the theme “Playground”, featuring runways, presentations, exhibitions, and lifestyle pop-ups. This season, 16 Chinese young brands, including newcomers Rè Shuǐ, ili node, Joyce Bao, and Hengdi Wang, will present their collections, bringing fresh creative energy to Chinese fashion.
Shanghai Fashion Week's GLAM showcase at New Bund 31 will present 12 brands specializing in modern Chinese garments and international bridal and evening couture. Under the spotlight, designers such as Shicongjin, Amusée Moi, and You Ji Young Haute Couture will debut their work in Shanghai, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary fashion.
