American fashion was celebrated at the American Museum of Natural History for the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards presented by Amazon Fashion and hosted by Tony, Emmy, Grammy winner and Academy Award nominated Cynthia Erivo. Four talents have been nominated the best American designers of the year.

The American Womenswear Designer of the Year award went to Rachel Scott of Diotima. Da’Vine Joy Randolph presented Scott, who was the 2023 Google Shopping American Emerging Designer of the Year, with the top award. Willy Chavarria was named American Menswear Designer of the Year, announced by Troye Sivan. This is the second consecutive year the designer is taking home this prestigious award. Raul Lopez of Luar conquered the American Accessory Designer of the Year award. Lopez first won in this category in 2022.

Creative director Daniel Roseberry was honored with the prestigious International Designer of the Year Award. This accolade, one of the most coveted in the fashion industry, celebrates Roseberry’s remarkable impact on global fashion and his boundary-pushing work at the helm of the iconic Parisian couture Maison.

Finally, Henry Zankov of Zankov won the Google Shopping American Emerging Designer of the Year trophy.

For honorees, Erykah Badu was named Fashion Icon. The Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert was presented to Hamish Bowles by Marc Jacobs. Molly Ringwald presented the newly-renamed Isabel Toledo board of directors’ Tribute to Isabel Toledo. Ruben Toledo accepted the award on behalf of his late wife.

The Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Stephen Burrows by Donna Karan and Todd Oldham.

The Innovation Award presented by Amazon Fashion went to Coach for Coachtopia. Creative director Stuart Vevers accepted the award on behalf of the brand.

Finally, Michael Kors won the Positive Change award, and Anna Wintour presented Annie Leibovitz with the Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard.
