Chanel focuses on new talents and signed a three-year agreement with the Hong Kong Design Institute. The luxury fashion house showcases the replica of the 2024/25 cruise collection, that was presented in Marseille last May, at the HK Design Institute which is located in the Tseung Kwan O district.
The objective of the partnership is to enrich the experience of students by facilitating their access to the fashion ecosystem, encouraging exchange and dialogue and developing key skills in the fields of design and savoir-faire. Also with the institute, the fashion house supported the «Imagine an elsewhere» exhibition which, until December 31, will offer a look at 16 collective works by 35 students of the institute specialized in architecture, interior & product design, communication design, digital media and fashion & image design.
In addition to the fashion show presenting the latest collection designed by former creative director Virginie Viard, Chanel created an immersive event through the screening of the film Modern flirt, created specifically for the occasion by the French director and friend of the maison Audrey Diwan, starring Hong Kong actress Angela Yuen and French actor Benjamin Voisin.
The next appointment with the Chanel show will be again in China, in Hangzhou, on December 3 with the Métiers d'art collection, dedicated to artisan excellence. The choice reaffirms the French brand's attempt to continue investing in the former Celestial Empire, despite the slowdown in luxury, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and China.
