A Biennale of a new genre takes place in the eastern Paris: La Biennale de Belleville.

Until October 28, this free event reveals a quite different Belleville.

Contemporary art off the beaten track ... collective and personal exhibitions, performances, lectures and artists' interventions will be conducted in public and private places, but also outside the Walls: public space, streets and gardens. The Biennale has been initiated by a group of curators and art critics living in Belleville.

Places: the Pavillon Carré de Baudoin, the Maison des métallos, the Antenne Plateau / Frac Ile-de-France, Café au Lit, Contexts and Ecole Prép'art host the event. Many contemporary art galleries are also participating in the Biennale : Marcelle Alix, Balice-Hertling, Bugada & Cargnel, Crevecoeur, Gaudel de Stampa, Jocelyn Wolff, Semiose, and Suzanne Tarasiève.
