Berlin Fashion Week (BFW) for fall/winter 2025 took place from January 31 to February 3, 2025, drawing around 30,000 visitors, including buyers, journalists, and industry professionals from around the world. The event showcased a wide range of fashion collections across 35 shows, emphasizing the blend of fashion, art, and Berlin's unique club culture. This year’s theme, “The responsible movement of freedom, inclusion, and creativity”, reflected Berlin's commitment to authenticity, diversity, and openness.

A notable feature of the event was the diverse selection of venues, including Halle am Berghain, St. Thomas Kirche, and a historic World War II bunker, all contributing to the distinctive atmosphere of the shows. The use of these varied locations highlighted Berlin’s cultural and architectural diversity, while the inclusive model casts showcased the city’s commitment to representing its broad population.

For the first time, Berlin Fashion Week was held immediately after Paris Haute Couture and Copenhagen Fashion Week, strategically positioning it in the international fashion calendar. This timing contributed to BFW's largest international audience to date, further solidifying Berlin’s growing global significance in the fashion industry.

BFW featured a dynamic mix of established brands and fresh talents. Highlights included PALMWINE IceCREAM, a Ghanaian-British brand, and PLNGNS from Ukraine, both adding an international touch to the lineup. Additionally, Kasia Kucharska, the first recipient of the FCG/VOGUE Fashion Fund, made her BFW debut with an innovative collection.

The collections presented ranged from Sia Arnika's fusion of maximalism and minimalism to GmbH's exploration of gender and identity. Venues like the Kant-Garagen and Kraftwerk added dramatic backdrops to collections inspired by everything from sacred art to workwear reinterpretations. Each show provided a platform for a variety of creative expressions, while also highlighting the ongoing importance of sustainability and innovation in the fashion industry.

Berlin Fashion Week continues to be a significant event, shaping the future of global fashion, by being not just a platform for design but a stage for cultural dialogue and sustainability.
