Concept Korea is an initiative led by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and managed by the Korea Creative Content Agency (Kocca).
The project is aimed at promoting Korean designers and their business activities. After debuting at New York Fashion Week, Concept Korea made its debut at Paris Fashion Week for the SS25 edition in September 2024.
Following this successful debut, which generated great interest, Concept Korea will return to Paris on March 7, 2025, to present the FW 2025-26 collections of EENK, RE RHEE, and MMAM at the Palais de Tokyo. Recognized worldwide for its multidisciplinary and avant-garde exhibitions, the contemporary art center Palais de Tokyo is the ideal venue to align with Concept Korea's theme this season: the convergence of fashion and art.
The Fusion of "K-Art" and Fashion: A Fashion Show as a Work of Art
On March 7, 2025, Concept Korea's Fall/Winter 2025 event will feature a joint show of RE RHEE and MMAM at 11:00 AM, followed by a solo show by EENK at 4:00 PM.
For the occasion, the three brands have collaborated with renowned artists, who have seamlessly integrated their work into the fashion shows.
The joint show at 11:00 AM will resemble a stage performance, starting with RE RHEE’s collection, which will be introduced by a live performance from jazz singer Youn Sun Nah. The collection, titled 'Traces of a Lingering Fragrance', embodies a poetic sensibility.
RE RHEE designers Junebok Rhee and Hyunjung Joo explained, “Rather than seeking immediate visual opulence, we aimed to create a collection that leaves a deep and lasting impression.” The brand emphasizes sustainability through the use of eco-friendly materials, presenting a collection that values authenticity and essence, while embodying a sophisticated yet understated aesthetic.
MMAM, in collaboration with choreographer Luda Lee, will fuse fashion with contemporary dance in a performance that reflects its seasonal concept, Contrasting Layers. MMAM designer Park Hyun said, “This collection highlights the interplay between contrasting textures, colors, and shapes, resulting in experimental yet wearable artworks.”
At 4:00 PM, EENK's show will draw inspiration from Kimsooja’s famous Bottari series. Designer Lee Hyemee shared, “After visiting Kimsooja’s To Breathe–Constellation exhibition at the Bourse de Commerce–Pinault Collection in Paris, I was deeply fascinated by her work.” The collection reinterprets traditional Korean aesthetics in a contemporary manner, paying homage to Kimsooja's artistic philosophy of extending fabric and thread to create an immersive cosmic and spatial experience.
The message conveyed by this edition of Concept Korea is that Korean designers are continuously evolving, seamlessly blending art, tradition, and forward-thinking concepts to push the boundaries of fashion.
