Tokyo Fashion Week 2025 FW season, organized by the Japan Fashion Week Organization, is a fashion festival that showcases the latest and best fashion creations that will take place from March 17 to 22, 2025. Under this year’s concept of “Fashion Fanfare,” which was established following last year’s theme of “Open, Fashion Week,” the festival will continue to be a fashion festival where people can discover the “fun” and “emotion” of fashion. Aiming to create a fashion week unique to Tokyo, the organisation will develop attractive content and strengthen communication both domestically and internationally.

A total of 37 brands, including 1 brand to be presented through “by R”, a project to empower the Japanese fashion scene sponsored by Rakuten Group, Inc., 32 brands presenting physically, 5 brands presenting digitally (including 11 brands participating for the first time, and 4 brands from overseas regions). The main venue for this year’s event will be at the Spiral Hall/Toda Hall & Conference Tokyo. This season’s lineup features a diverse lineup, including brands that have participated in past Fashion Weeks in Tokyo, brands from overseas, and a range of first-time participants and established brands.

Hyke, by Hideaki Yoshihara and Yukiko Ode will present a runway show with an audience for this 2025 AW season, the first time in five years since 2020 SS. Hidesign, a brand that has been garnering attention as their “All Zone” capsule collection, which was presented at the 107th Pitti Imagine Uomo in January of this year, will be re-presented in a wearable version at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo. Hummel 00, a fashion line launched in the 25SS season by Denmark sports brand Hummel celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023. This year, the brand will participate in Rakuten fashion Week Tokyo for the first time in its second season with Masanori Morikawa as appointed the designer.

Internationally and domestically active photographers will photograph the shows, the atmosphere of the venues, and the visitors during the fashion week. This project conveys the appeal of the collections and Fashion Week from a different angle to the show look photos. This season, the shows and snaps are shot by separate photographers. Shun Komiyama, known for being the only Japanese photographer selected as a finalist in JW Anderson’s ‘Your Picture / Our Future’ campaign, which aims to discover up-and-coming photographers, is in charge of the show. Snapshots are taken by mitograph, which has been participating in this project since it started.

On March 16, “Fashion Prize of Tokyo 2025” award-winning brand “ssstein” will have a winner’s event, and the “Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo 2025 AW” opening party will be held a day before Fashion Week.

The Tokyo Fashion Award is sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and JFWO, the award aims to support Tokyo-based fashion designers, expanding their business to make greater strides into the global arena.
