The Belgian designer will show his first Maison Margiela collection during Haute Couture Week, scheduled from July 7 to 10, 2025. Glenn Martens will present the Maison Margiela Artisanal collection for the Fall 2025 season.

“This show marks the beginning of an inspiring new chapter for the maison, rooted in our core creative values and shaped by Margiela’s couture heritage. Under Glenn’s direction, couture will continue to ignite creativity for the brand and drive boundary-pushing designs,” Maison Margiela said in a release.

This first Martens show for Margiela, the brand owned by OTB (the Italian fashion empire of fashion entrepreneur Renzo Rosso) since 2006, will mark the house’s return to couture since January 2024, when John Galliano staged the last show of the brand after ten years.

Originally from Bruges, Belgium, with a degree in interior architecture, Martens applied to the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. After finishing his studies, he began his career with Jean Paul Gaultier as junior designer for the women’s pre-collection and his menswear label G2. In 2012, he started his eponymous label. Martens won the Grand Prix at the Andam Awards with Y/Project in 2017, winning $280,000 and a year-long mentorship from Francesca Bellettini, ceo and president of Yves Saint Laurent. He joined Diesel as he was appointed artistic director in October 2020. Martens left Y/Project in 2024, after 11 years. In January 2022, he designed Jean Paul Gaultier's couture collection as a guest designer.
