Produced by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) - Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies and by the Italian Cultural Institute in Brussels as part of their activities dedicated to design and fashion, from June 5 to September 17, 2025 the exhibition project, conceived and curated by journalists Fiorella Galgano and Alessia Tota, pays homage to the genius and sartorial knowledge of leading figures in Italian Haute Couture and design who, in addition to contributing to the birth of Made in Italy, have managed over time to impose their style and aesthetic taste throughout the world, determining what is today the unmistakable “Italian style”.

“60 years of Made in Italy” presents unique clothes, true archive creations, worn by celebrities in films or on international red carpets, starting from the birth of the glorious Haute Couture to the present day, in a display aimed at showing both the progressive path of Italian fashion and the autonomous research spaces of each designer. The exhibition is completed by an institutional film that tells the most evocative moments in the history of Italian fashion, through an exclusive English interview with Micol Fontana (Sorelle Fontana), who offers a direct testimony of the era in which Italian haute couture was born.

The display includes forty historic garments that bear witness to the style, and for which each protagonist of Italian fashion has distinguished and affirmed himself. On display are the Haute Couture creations of Emilio Federico Schuberth, Sorelle Fontana, Roberto Capucci, Valentino, Sarli, Galitzine, Sartoria Bonfanti, Lancetti, Renato Balestra, Prince Egon Fürstenberg, Gai Mattiolo, Marella Ferrera, André Laug, Antonio Marras, Franco Ciambella, Brioni, and Lorenzo Riva. For Prêt-à-porter, the brands are Emilio Pucci, Giorgio Armani, Laura Biagiotti, Roberta di Camerino, Roberto Cavalli, Enrico Coveri, Dolce & Gabbana, Etro, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gianfranco Ferré, Alberta Ferretti, Gucci, Krizia, Max Mara, Missoni, Moschino, Prada, Versace.

The exhibition, which contributes to the “Giornate della Moda Italiana nel Mondo” (Italian Fashion Days in the World), was inaugurated in Rome in 2012 with the patronage of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion. It then traveled on a journey that, under the aegis of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, led it to be hosted in the most prestigious exhibition venues in the world: from Washington to Mexico City, from Kuala Lumppur to Singapore, from Moscow to Canton… and now arrives in Brussels, set up in the exhibition space of the Italian Cultural Institute.
