Portugal Fashion, the Portuguese fashion event, returns to Porto from July 01 to 05 at the Tram Museum in Porto to celebrate 30 years with a special edition, showcasing the SS26 collections of 30 designers, including Miguel Vieira, David Catalán, Pé de Chumbo, Davii, Estelita Mendonça, Hugo Costa, Maria Gambina, Susana Bettencourt, Nopin, and Achor. Marques'Almeida duo will showcase their collection in the Douro, and Ernest W. Baker will be the protagonists of an exclusive presentation.
"This edition marks the strategic repositioning of the event as a national platform for communication, business, and innovation. More than a calendar of fashion shows, this edition proposes an immersive and decentralized experience that crosses fashion, lifestyle, and technology, highlighting Portugal as a true fashion hub on a global scale," the organization explains in a statement.
Titled Portugal Fashion Experience, the event that combines fashion shows, cultural activations and gastronomic experiences, will have the city of Porto as its main stage, in addition to the Tram Museum, it will also have events taking place in several regions of Northern Portugal, such as the Douro, Famalicão, Matosinhos, and Gondomar, in a "strategy of territorial decentralization that reinforces the role of fashion in enhancing tourist, industrial, and cultural assets," added the organization.
"This edition celebrates our past, but above all it is a commitment to the future. Portugal Fashion wants to continue to be an engine of transformation for Portuguese fashion, linking designers, industry, and territory with a vision of innovation and sustainability. We believe in the power of fashion as an economic and cultural force, capable of projecting Portugal to the world," commented Mónica Neto, director of Portugal Fashion.
Taking place under the theme "Fashion, Lifestyle & Innovation," Portugal Fashion Experience was designed to "bring the creative sector closer to the industry, the entrepreneurial community, and the territory, promoting emerging talent, authorial creativity, digitalization, and sustainability as pillars of internationalization."
The fashion event will also present the finalists of the 2025 edition of the Bloom PWD by Salsa Jeans competition at the former Vasco da Gama canning factory in Matosinhos. Portugal Fashion will launch the first edition of the Bloom Incubator, with the presence of 10 African Canex designers and the debut of a partnership with Saudi Arabia, welcoming three designers.
This edition will also include the Portugal Fashion Summit, a space for reflection and sharing where designers, investors, journalists, brands, and startups come together, which will accompany the event throughout the week. Promoted by the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (Anje), Portugal Fashion has one of the main visibility platforms for Portuguese fashion. The return of the event is part of an international project that began in June with fashion shows in Milan by David Catalán and Miguel Vieira, and in Paris with Ernest W. Baker's presentation.
