Genesis and the Council of Fashion Designers of America have opened submissions for the third annual CFDA/Genesis House AAPI Design + Innovation Grant. The program celebrates and uplifts the creative excellence of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) designers who are shaping the future of American fashion through innovation, identity, and purpose.

Launched in 2022, the CFDA | Genesis House AAPI Design + Innovation Grant was conceived to spotlight AAPI talent and support the next generation of designers who are challenging convention and forging bold new paths in design. The grant aims to provide meaningful resources, exposure, and funding to empower visionary AAPI designers building original, design-forward businesses in the early stages of growth.

The 2025 program will again award three finalist designers an unrestricted $40,000 grant, access to CFDA resources and programming, a trip to Seoul, and a feature presentation at Genesis House in New York City. Finalists will also receive program exposure and industry visibility through CFDA channels. The winning designer will receive an additional $60,000 grant to use towards their business.

Applications are now open to early-stage AAPI designers who lead their brands’ creative direction and are ready to take the next step in building a purposeful, innovative business. Interested applicants must demonstrate a strong point of view, clear brand identity, and a commitment to thoughtful, responsible design.

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of industry leaders and AAPI creative voices, with finalists selected for interviews and a final pitch presentation this fall.

Applications are now open on cfda.com until July 14, 2025.
