Micam promotes the eighth edition of the Emerging Designers project: the event area dedicated to 12 young international footwear designers, selected through an innovative format developed in collaboration with Honegger, a company with over 50 years of experience in trade fair marketing.

Applications from international designers were reviewed by a jury of experts in the fashion and communication sectors, chaired by Ernesto Esposito. For this year’s contest, he was joined by Maura Basili, Elisabetta Falciola, Valentina Nervi, Edoardo Bachini, and Lorenzo Bringheli, together with Micam, represented on the jury by Giovanna Ceolini and Giorgio Possagno, respectively president and ceo of Micam.

The jury members were invited to make a significant contribution to the selection of designers to present to the public at the fair, expressing their authoritative viewpoint, shaped by their ongoing professional and personal experiences in fashion and communication.

The selection of the Emerging Designers for the September 2025 and February 2026 editions of Micam embodies the synthesis between a solid legacy, rooted in the long history of footwear, and the ability to embrace new trends, innovation, and a focus on design and beauty. Each collection displays a strong identity and aims to meet the demands of an increasingly discerning market.

Product quality is a fundamental requirement, as is the ability to interpret the sociocultural evolution that has changed people’s habits and needs. As a result, the collections adapt their functionality to new lifestyles, with particular emphasis on comfort and practicality.

Sustainability is understood in a broad sense: not only through the conscious selection of materials, but also through a responsible approach to social wellbeing. Innovation and creativity are key tools in defining collections that remain relevant in a constantly evolving sector.

The selected designers are Le Plagiste (Francia), Canella Brand Shoes (Perù), BRóG (Irlanda), Lancialy Milano (Italia), Nuosmiq (Corea del Sud), Wuman (Nigeria), Apice (Italia), Le Signe (Italia), Servati (Italia), Sassy Icon (Paesi Bassi), Then (Corea del Sud), and Marco Castelli Collection (Regno Unito).
