Art Basel Paris concluded a successful last edition at the Grand Palais, further deepening its ties with the city's legacy and cross-disciplinary spirit. Bringing together 206 leading international galleries from 41 countries and territories, including 65 operating spaces in France, the show attracted an enthusiastic response from galleries, collectors, and visitors from across the globe, with a total attendance of more than 73,000 throughout its VIP and public days.
Exhibitors reported strong sales across all market segments and sectors, with standout placements including works by Gerhard Richter, Amadeo Modigliani, Julie Mehretu, and Leiko Ikemura. Notable successes also came from rediscoveries by Marie Bracquemond and Lee ShinJa, as well as emerging voices such as Yu Nishimura and Özgür Kar, reflecting the depth and diversity of gallery programs on view.
The city’s avant-garde spirit was palpable throughout the show, reflected in highlights across its three sectors, such as Galeries, Emergence, and Premise, with presentations spanning historical and blue-chip masters such as Peter Paul Rubens, Meret Oppenheim, and Edgar Degas; canon-expanding rediscoveries like Hector Hyppolite, Ella Bergmann-Michel, and Dadamaino; contemporary voices including Latifa Echakhch, Otobong Nkanga, Ai Weiwei, and Xie Lei; and emerging talents such as Ash Love, Precious Okoyomon, and Monia Ben Hamouda.
Leading art patrons and private collectors from France, Europe, the Americas, and Asia visited the show. Art Basel Paris 2025 welcomed representatives from over 240 museums and foundations worldwide, including the Centre Pompidou, Musée du Louvre, Fondation Beyeler, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Tate, Serpentine Galleries, Stedelijk Museum, and Istanbul Museum of Modern Art.
The show's ambitious Public Program returned with activations across nine storied venues throughout Paris, underlining the bridge between the show and adjacent creative industries. Miu Miu was the Public Program Official Partner for the second consecutive year. Oh La La! - Art Basel Paris' creative re-hanging initiative during the Friday and Saturday of the show week, returned for its second edition, this year under the artistic direction of fashion journalist Loïc Prigent.
As part of the show week, Art Basel announced the appointment of Karim Crippa as the director of Art Basel Paris, effective November 1, 2025. Crippa will lead the Paris show into its next chapter, working closely with participating galleries, collectors, and both private and public partners, including the Ministry of Culture, GrandPalaisRmn, and the City of Paris, to consolidate its position as one of Europe’s most dynamic platforms for modern and contemporary art.
