The British Fashion Council has revealed the winners of The Fashion Awards 2025. TFA is a vital fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, which supports fashion talent through scholarships and initiatives. The evening spotlighted the cultural power of fashion, its most iconic moments, and the visionary talents pushing boundaries and redefining the industry.
Jonathan Anderson took home the top Designer of the Year prize for Dior and JW Anderson for the third year. Anderson is the first designer to win the top prize three years in a row, despite working for different brands; in 2023 and 2024, he won the top award for his work as creative director of JW Anderson and Loewe. Delphine Arnault picked up a Special Recognition award for her contribution to the global fashion industry and her longstanding commitment to championing emerging talent.
Sarah Burton, creative director at Givenchy since September 2024 (after a longtime designer at Alexander McQueen), won the British Womenswear Designer award. Grace Wales Bonner achieved the British Menswear Designer award for her label, proposing a distinct notion of cultural luxury that infuses European heritage with an Afro Atlantic spirit.
The Vanguard award, which recognises a designer at the forefront of a new wave in British fashion, went to Turkish-born designer Dilara Fındıkoğlu for her label, known for its Gothic vision.
Other winners include Brunello Cucinelli, who received an Outstanding Achievement Award; Tania Fares received a Special Recognition award for her contribution to the BFC Fashion Trust’s charitable programs over the last 15 years. Lulu Kennedy and Raphaelle Moore also received a Special Recognition award for 25 years of Fashion East, a non-profit talent incubator discovering, nurturing, and showcasing emerging fashion designers.
Rei Kawakubo, Adrian Joffe, and Dickon Bowden took home the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator. Anok Yai, of Sudanese origins, American by adoption, won the Model of the Year prize. She has been a protagonist of important fashion houses such as Versace, Alaïa, and Saint Laurent, and continued to be the face of Mugler's Alien fragrance. Australian native and stylist, and fashion expert Sam Woolf took home the Pandora Style Moment of the Year Award.
Finally, Chanel was honoured with a Special Recognition Award, celebrating 100 years in the UK; Little Simz won the Cultural Innovator Award; Kate Hawley was named Costume Designer of the Year Award. Melanie Ward has been honoured with a Posthumous Outstanding Contribution to Fashion Award.
