The Maison Mode Méditerranée (MMM) Endowment Fund has announced the finalists for the 14th edition of its Awards, a unique program that supports committed fashion designers, artisans, and researchers. They all share the same ambition: shaping innovative, sustainable fashion that is intimately linked to the imaginations, skills, and territories of the Mediterranean and the African continent.

This year, 140 applications from the fashion, textile, accessory, and jewelry sectors poured in, demonstrating the network's reach and the program's appeal. Fashion designers from sub-Saharan Africa (30%) and the Middle East (11%) stand out with a significant increase in participation. Southern Europe remains dominated by French designers (56%), followed by Spain.

"The MMM Board of Directors, the supporters of the MMM Endowment Fund, and the expert committee were captivated by creative visions driven by a strong social and artisanal commitment, technical virtuosity, bold innovation, and creativity nourished by a rich cultural heritage," said Jina Luciani, president of Maison Mode Méditerranée.

Beyond the financial prize, the winners will benefit from two years of support: mentoring by the patrons, strategic guidance from the MMM Board of Directors, and expertise from the MMM to develop and structure their creative proposals, encourage new creative collaborations, and increase their visibility.

This support program has already proven successful: the 2024 MMM Global Fashion Brand Grand Prize was awarded to South African designer Judy Sanderson, based in Portugal, and encouraged her to develop a project documenting fashion craftsmanship in more than 54 countries. Other designers from the latest awards, such as Mossi, Burc Akyol, Amaury Darras, and Sophia Kacimi, have distinguished themselves on the international fashion scene or in other prestigious awards, confirming the ability of the MMM Awards to reveal and propel the designers of tomorrow.
