The pictorial researches of Leonardo Cremonini (Bologna 1925 - Paris 2010) and Karl Plattner (Malles, Bz 1919 - Milan 1986) dialogue in the rooms of the Collections.

The comparison between the two painters, united by a strong personal and professional bond, is retraced by the unpublished archive documentation and suggested by numerous visual affinities.

After World War II, the two artists met in Milan, where they completed their studies at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. Theirs will be a lasting friendship, entrusted in periods of distance to a series of letters now partly preserved in Mart's 20th-century archive.

Despite the stylistic differences, the works of Cremonini and Plattner are united by a close correspondence of themes and formal elements. The predilection for the human figure emerges, represented in domestic environments and suspended atmospheres; attention is paid to the relationship between interior and exterior, entrusted to compositional solutions and emblematic subjects such as thresholds and mirrors; the wise use of color stands out, never chosen in a realistic way.

Created thanks to the availability of the heirs of the artists, private collectors, and the collaboration with the recently established Archivio Plattner in Bolzano, the exhibition offers an insight into the production of Cremonini and Plattner between the fifties and the nineties of the twentieth century.
