Robinson les Bains by Christophe Vérot

Universe: Elegance. Retro. Adventure. Sharp. Peaceful.
Inspiration: Movies. Films. Nature. Memories. Sculptures. Paintings. Architecture.
Inspiration for SS 13 collection: For this collection, Christophe Vérot choses the rafinement and discretion of the small italian port city of Laveno on the Lake Maggior. This collection draws inspiration from Laveno’s brick red colours and yellow painted villas. Grey and turquoise are reminiscences of the changing tone of the lake reflected by the light. As each season, Robinson Les Bains keeps the bright retro style which made it successful – 70s graphics, removable elastic belts, and watercolour prints. But never before have cut and pattern been in such armony – a visualisation of the special Lake Maggiore atmosphere. However, the 007 inside each man could never do without the smart British style, therefore checks and stripes are continuously being reinvented in order to rediscover this fashionable this fashionable preppy charm.

Sébastien Blondin
Current location: Paris
Educational backround: École d’Arts Appliqués à l’Université de la Mode.
Universe: Designer-to-wear, redefinition of the codes: a new wardrobe for men. Made in France. Knitwear: sophisticated + casual. Code: red + thread. A man’s poetry: elegance + masculinity. Structure + fluidity. Balance: originality + subtlety. Hybridation: opposites attract. Timeless pieces.
Inspirations: Architecture - Santiago Calatrava, Frank Lloyd Wright, Frank Gehry, Renzo Piano. Music - Philipp Glass, Wojciech Kilar, Trentemoller, Moby, ambient, soundtracks, classical (Chopin, Schubert). Contemporary dance - Angelin Preljocaj, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian. Painting - Hans Hartung, Nicolas de Stael, Pierre Soulages, Mark Rothko, Gerhard Richter. Travels - Amsterdam, Rome, Florence, Cologne, Copenhagen, Valencia, Vienna, London. Urban and natural materials - Textures, forms, shades.
Inspiration for SS 13 collection: I have walked into the dusky light, its multiple shades and many textures. Sébastien Blondin’s knitwear brings back the colours of this roman panorama: cream, beige, orange, rust, hues of blue, light grey and black. Drawings as patterns are irregular lines. The collection is structured by the perfect drape of the trousers and vest-like jackets fitted at the waist. Sculptural lines and visual details - darts, folds, yokes, pockets, collars, lapels – put rhythm into the clothes. The breezy fluidity of draped pieces and soft collars is a recollection of the roman toga. This casualness is balanced by the curving of the sleeves, the strength of the shoulders and the asymmetry of the collars. The textures of the fabrics are a landscape: linen, cotton, flamed cotton, chiné viscose, cotton and flecked linen, viscose & silk. French and Italian fabrics, 100% of the pieces are made in France, high quality details and finishings.
