Pitti immagine Uomo, the platform for men’s clothing and accessory collections and for launching new projects in men’s fashion, gets ready for the next edition number 91, planned from 10th until 13th of January 2017 in Florence, Italy, revealing the first guest designers and special projects:

Tim Coppens - Menswear Guest Designer
Paul Smith - Pitti Immagine Special Guest
Golden Goose Deluxe Brand - Special Project
Cottweiler for Reebok - Designer Project

“The program of special events for the next Pitti Uomo represents for us a further step in the process of moving beyond the traditional duality between trade fair and fashion week and toward the discovery of new formats, combining stylistic research, communication and commercial market attention.” said Lapo Cianchi, the Pitti Immagine Director of Communications and Special Events, explaining in addition that “This first line-up of protagonists, chosen in light of the new frontiers between fashion, sportswear and athleisure - a strong theme in fashion and contemporary lifestyle - will be joined by other guests and special projects about which we will soon be sending out more details; projects that illustrate other menswear worlds, also in a geographical sense, with new fashion design talents and big traditional brands that are projecting themselves into the future.”.

The special guest of the florentine kermesse will be Paul Smith, who has chosen the stage of Pitti Immagine for the launch of his contemporary line, PS by Paul Smith, realizing a special fashion installation for the occasion. The brit designer has recently announced that he will unify men’s and women’s défilé in one single event, which will take place in Paris next 22 January.

The Belgian designer Tim Coppens to feature in exclusive, for the first time ever, his FW 2017/2018 collection as menswear guest designer of Pitti Uomo 91. Graduated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and finalist at the LVMH Prize 2014 - as well as being the winner of the CFDA Swarovski Award the same year - Coppens can be defined as the pioneer of a new luxury sportswear esthetic, which is conquering the interest of the international fashion panorama. His stylistic idea combines tailoring, craftsmanship and athletic wear, with references to street culture.

The special project will be entrusted to Golden Goose Deluxe Brand, which will celebrate the 10 years of its iconic sneakers with an installation-event.

Cottweiler for Reebok will be instead the protagonist of the designer project. The London based label, founded by creative duo Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty, will be showing the absolute premiere of its capsule collection created in collaboration with Reebok, the sporty brand owed by the german group Adidas since 2006.
