Exposition Générale unveils the artistic identity of the Fondation Cartier and its heritage through nearly 600 works by over 100 artists featured in its programming from 1984 to the present. Reflecting the institution’s history and its openness to the diversity of the world, the Fondation Cartier Collection bears witness to four decades of international contemporary creation. The exhibition highlights the singularity of this unique collection, shaped over time through the Fondation’s programming. It comprises solo exhibitions and thematic groupings around which the Fondation’s artistic commitments, architecture, living worlds, technology, and science unfold, presenting emblematic works alongside fragments of landmark exhibitions that have defined the institution’s history.

With over 350 pieces (garments, accessories, photographs, graphic art, samples, tools, etc.), the exhibition features creations from haute couture houses as well as pieces by young designers, some of which have been made especially for the exhibition.
The Palais Galliera is also paying tribute to the people behind these skills, who are often forgotten or lesser known by the prestigious name of a couturier. Whether they are traditional Maisons such as Lesage or Hurel, or newer, contemporary players like Baqué Molinié or Aurélia Leblanc, the exhibition reviews these often unsung craftspeople of fashion: the textile designers, embroiderers, feather workers, and floral makers, who have made Paris the cosmopolitan capital and prime location for their exceptional skills, which they maintain in a constant state of innovation and renewal.

Mickalene Thomas: All About Love is a major retrospective at Grand Palais (Paris) that celebrates more than two decades of work by the acclaimed American artist Mickalene Thomas (b. 1971, New York).
Curated by Rachel Thomas, Lauriane Gricourt, and Erin Gilbert, the exhibition presents a vibrant, multimedia survey in which Thomas reimagines traditional portraiture through a queer Black feminist lens. Her richly textured, often rhinestone‑studded compositions honor the beauty, agency, and resilience of Black women, placing them at the center of powerful, joyful, and intimate narratives that challenge historical exclusions and reclaim representational space.
