FADE OUT label owner and art director Andrea Bonfini in this online short video as he opens his doors to his Berlin studio and tells us about his inspirations and work.
Fade Out Label is a unisex, made of vintage denim and upcycled natural fabrics and natural materials recycled to the most possible extent, in order to realize sustainable garments with an innovative style and tailored with handicraft quality. Collections are mde primarily with denim, or natural material, bought at charity shops that is then deconstructed, washed, sanitized, ironed and reassembled though a patchwork method like the tiles of a mosaic. This whole process takes place in the Berlin studio where garments are also sewed and finished. In addition to denim, in some capsule collections, old camouflage tents and army blankets, vintage soccer scarves, protest banners, organic cotton, shopping bags, parachutes and other materials are used.

FOS X MBFW: Neu Bleu video studio visit
Special events
Tuesday September 07 2021 4pm - 4.10pm

In their Berlin studio founder Tim van der Loo and Sandra Nicoline Nielsen will explain how they are taking waste post consumer denim to create a new circular and zero waste textile.

New Blue is a new circular jeans fabric. To begin the process, discarded jeans – serving as a raw material – are cut into small fibres and then bonded to form a fleece. During the course of the project, two distinct routes have been explored, each with their own unique qualities: an industrially produced recycled jeans fibre non-woven fabric, and a self-produced, “crafted” non-woven fabric. The industrially produced non-woven shows a homogenous, uniform surface, whereas the crafted fleece appears irregular, rough and textured, giving room for individual expression. The New Blue concept offers a novel way to form defined areas on a fabric roll. Digitally-aided industrial embroidery is applied to the fleece not only to create a stable fabric but also to generate the cut-patterns needed for the final piece of clothing, thus rationalising the entire production process from fibres to garment. The embroidered areas of the non-woven cloth remain intact when exposed to water, whereas the non-embroidered parts of the fleece disintegrate. These loose denim fibres can be reused as raw material, while the embroidered parts remain stable and can be sewn together without further cutting, establishing a circular and zero waste production method.

Wed. September 08 2021 2pm - 7pm

During a store event in their Berlin boutique, Johnny Talbot and Adrian Runhof present their latest creations, and the launch of the new TALBOT RUNHOF Perfume Collection is also planned as a further element. In addition to a model presentation and a tasting of the five new fragrances, there will be a "Dead Stock" installation as a contribution to the sustainability debate to point out one of the biggest sustainability problems in the fashion industry:

The two designers specifically searched for "forgotten" fabrics and materials, in order to show that in a creative process something new and innovative can emerge from old, discarded materials. The result is a small capsule with new models - skirts, dresses and jumpsuits .
