From cult celebrities, to musical icons and the world’s top Supermodels, Rankin was at the forefront of Cool Britannia and the 90’s style which is still popular today. Co-founder and Dazed & Confused’s first Photographic Editor, Rankin’s visual style helped launch the magazine and defined the aesthetics of multiple generations of British youth.
Across 10 years Rankin photographed over 200 iconic editorial shoots for the magazine, and his work from this period forms a manifesto about how to view the world, a political statement communicated not with words but with a camera lens.
Unafraid of mainstream pressures, with Dazed, Rankin spearheaded Lgbtqia+ representation, took his camera to the street to photograph working-class kids, became “the” photographer for Brit-pop bands, and created defining images of emerging cult actors.

Glaswegian-born designer, illustrator, stylist, and radical creative Charles Jeffrey is on display at Somerset House to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his fashion house Loverboy. The "The Lore of Loverboy" exhibition examines Charles’ sensational impact on the global fashion scene, from club to catwalk, including the full spectrum of his prolific output, with newly commissioned works.
The exhibition is displayed across three rooms within Somerset House. It includes artistic collaborations, films, illustrations, paintings, memorabilia, and never-before-seen material. Through a series of sensorial-led spaces rendered in Loverboy's signature playful style, the exhibition provides an accessible and engaging insight into creative production and the fashion industry. It also provides the space to celebrate a new generation of young London creatives.
Each room has its distinctive vision. Presented with an immersive multimedia installation, assembled from the Loverboy archive, the exhibition showcases Charles Jeffrey’s creative process across each space. The first room introduces his artistic inspirations, followed by a closer look into the development of his craft and codes, culminating in the final room featuring the brand’s most iconic and extravagant designs.
