Beat by be@t is a regenerative initiative within the Portuguese fashion industry, designed to expand synergies between creatives and innovative producers. The programme empowers these two essential poles of activity to collaborate in the development of Sustainability and Circularity strategies, contributing towards the climate objectives of the Paris Agreement and the European Green Deal. This exhibition marks the final edition of the project, presenting four new circular economy proposals that aim to be active agents in the transformation of the industry. From a mobile app to a new biodegradable, compostable material, and the revalorisation of deadstock through designer collaborations, each concept is conceived as a future-ready solution.

Modalisboa Base’s Fast Talks are conceived as spaces of suspension and critical thinking, designed to balance the time needed for reflection with the urgency of resolution. In this edition, with our host Rui Maria Pêgo, two main axes guide the debate. The first proposes a focus on heritage and materiality, questioning how ancestral techniques, often tied to regional practices and slower rhythms, can offer responses to the challenges of sustainability, innovation, and permanence. The second centers on building strategies for the autonomy of independent businesses in an industry marked by speed and the pressure of immediate success, in order to rethink models of growth that are consistent, conscious, and long-lasting. Between design and market, tradition and technology, handcraft and strategic vision, the Fast Talks convene different perspectives to imagine how Fashion can sustain itself from its Base, balancing memory and future, experimentation and structure, individual authorship and collective practice.

ModaLisboa at Avenida unfolds as an extension of Lisbon Fashion Week onto the city’s main avenue, through a partnership with the Avenida da Liberdade Association. The project expands Lisboa Fashion Week beyond its central venues, opening its programming to new geographies and affirming Fashion as a multidisciplinary practice, culturally relevant and deeply rooted in urban daily life.
Throughout the entire week, the avenue is transformed into a stage for workshops, cocktails, and cultural interventions in ateliers, stores, restaurants, and hotels, bringing together diverse audiences and proposing new forms of encounter. With a particular focus on the opening day, October 2, this program extends until the closing of the edition, redefining the city as a territory of mediation, circulation of ideas, and affirmation of community.

Portugal is internationally recognised for its responsible, high-quality production across the textile, apparel and footwear sectors. The sustainable transition of these industries has been both consistent and strategic, driven by investment in technological innovation as well as the preservation of ancestral techniques and the skilled artisans who uphold them.
During Lisboa Fashion Week, the industry’s best practices are shared with the fashion community and the wider public through a variety of formats, raising awareness and reinforcing the importance of ethical consumption.

An artistic installation in Praça do Comércio will explore the intersection of technology, circularity and urban life, encouraging dialogue and inviting new ways of thinking about and engaging with fashion.
Meanwhile, a dedicated footwear showcase will highlight alternative knowledge systems and emerging methodologies that promote environmental awareness, as well as new approaches to valuing design and durability.
