A refined essential collection, with minimal details and a contemporary allure playing with sleek lines and the values of leather inner texture, define the codes of 1972 Desa, originating from Istanbul. The brand is created from the values and expertise of Desa established by the Celet family in 1972.
The 1972 Desa collection was developed by an international team of designers led by Manuela Cocci, through organic, sustainable, durable leather with careful construction, following the human body.

Minimalism and softness are at the end of a glamorous spectrum defining the brand’s codes.
Heritage, expertise, sustainability, and cutting-edge production techniques are just a few of the concepts defining Desa, a leather fashion house established in Istanbul by the Celet family in 1972, steadily evolved to become the first public Leather Goods company in Turkey, with offices in London, Milan, Dusseldorf, and Sofia. The control of the supply chain and the tracking of every single process, from the sourcing of the materials to the tannery from finishing to tailoring provides sustainability on the frontline of its values.
Desa is part of the Leather Working Group (LWG), an independent international consortium that unites the main companies in the sector that are committed to monitoring the best practices of the tanning industry. Every year LWG certifies the sustainability standards and has awarded Desa with the Golden Standard valuing every step of the production from the raw material to the final garment. Desa focuses on sustainability and the conversion to green energy to self-produce at least 50% of the energy used in its industrial plants. A full cycle is also ensured through staff training inside a company school for the new generations that will represent the future of the company.
The brand is currently distributed in more than 120 multi-brand stores including - for the Italian market - Antonia in Milan, Penelope in Brescia, Spinnaker in Sanremo, Wise in Desenzano, and Mimma Ninni in Bari. Internationally, the stockist list includes Joseph in London, Burresi in Wiesbaden, Harvey Nichols in Hong Kong, United Arrows in Japan,1423 Naivewater in Korea, and the 1972 Desa signature store in Istanbul. The B2B distribution is provided by Riccardo Grassi Showroom in Milan and through the Joor platform.
