Galerie Joseph

A carriage house, a dressing factory during the war, an ironworker's forge and even a slaughterhouse: the locations of the twenty Joseph Galleries spread throughout the Marais are a directory of the historic trades of the district, which have now disappeared. This unique collection of places of character is now dedicated to art and design. Michael Timsit, their owner, is passionate about art, design and lifestyle.
In addition to welcoming creators into its spaces throughout the year, it publishes a digital magazine, Acumen, dedicated to Culture, trends, creation in the broad sense, travel, design, gastronomy, architecture, etc. from each other, dotted all around the 3rd arrondissement, the places can operate in a network, like an exhibition fair set in the oldest historic district of Paris. “I always choose my galleries according to the same criteria,” explains Michael Timsit: volume, ceiling height, brightness, personality and originality. And finally, the best location. » The walls are repainted white, the parquet floors restored, the old staircases preserved. This is the Joseph “paw”, whether the premises are 30 square meters or 1200. An authentic decor, but neutral enough to disappear behind its content.
