Pitti Filati and Pitti Bimbo, held from June 24 to 26 in Florence, closed with a positive balance, recording approximately 4,500 visitors and 3,000 registered buyers at the Fortezza da Basso, with more than half coming from key international markets.
Textile research and contemporary design
The excellence of international spinning has invested in materials research, combining materials, new color combinations, technology, and high craftsmanship. Pitti Bimbo has focused on contemporary design, fresh styles, and a joyful, child-friendly lifestyle. A conscious energy pervaded the Fortezza da Basso, bringing a message of confidence and determination to a large part of the international fashion system and to consumers themselves.
"I already knew the content of Pitti Filati and Pitti Bimbo well, but the full immersion of these three days at the Fortezza da Basso managed to surprise me once again. Above all, for the inexhaustible capacity for innovation and the high manufacturing quality of the spinners on one hand, and the stylistic freshness, dynamism, and cheerful energy of the Bimbo booths on the other," said Ivano Cauli, ceo of Pitti Immagine. "When viewed in their development trajectory, the two shows are in different phases, but in some respects, this is functional to their simultaneous scheduling, so much so that many buyers seized the opportunity to visit both events. We should therefore reach a total attendance of about 4,500 highly selected trade and communication professionals, with a foreign percentage exceeding 40%: buyers, sales agents and distributors, representatives, journalists, and digital media and social media representatives."
Two special areas and synergistic projects
"Pitti Filati confirms itself as the only global benchmark for top-level yarns but also as a provider of services and solutions for the knitwear, clothing, and luxury industries, especially thanks to the CustomEasy and KnitClub sections. It is the place where the entire fashion production and creative process begins, where trends for colors, stitches, material use, and texture are launched for finished products that will hit stores in 18 months", continued Cauli.
The results and attendance at the booths exceeded expectations
"This function, well represented in the Spazio Ricerca curated by Angelo Figus, attracts creatives from other sectors, such as interior design and the automotive industry. The spinning mills presented themselves on the wake of a complicated start to 2026; therefore, with great caution, but the results and attendance at the booths exceeded expectations, and many are leaving feeling more reassured. {The June edition presents the winter collections, which represent the largest part of production and turnover for the spinning mills. Among the approximately 3,300 buyers, of whom over 1,700 are foreign, the design offices of all the most important international fashion and luxury brands stand out. The highest turnouts were recorded from the United Kingdom, France, the United States, China, Germany, Japan, Turkey, Switzerland, Spain, China-Hong Kong, and South Korea," concluded Ivano Cauli.
