ITALY / Florence: The japanese designer Yoshio Kubo shows at Pitti Immagine Uomo

Yoshio Kubo will show its new menswear collection at the 92nd edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo taking place from June 13 – 16, 2017. The men's fashion tradeshow Pitti Uomo is held twice a year in Florence, Italy, in January and in June.

The famous trade show held in Florence, Pitti Imagine Uomo has a partnership with the Japan Fashion Week Promotion Organization aiming to highlight and focus on emerging Japanese designers. This year, Yoshio Kubo is invited to show his unique collection as a part of this project.

Yoshio explains, how he wants to communicate his unique high-quality patterned clothing and fine-grained sewing technique with people. He mentions that he wants to get people to think about the meaning, furthermore the details of the clothing they wear.

“Yoshiokubo” presents his spring summer 18 collection at the Stazione Leopolda, and will bring fresh creativity to the runway in partnership with the world famous Pokémon brand. In collaboration showing an original multimedia installation, which represents the first chapter of its collaboration with the Japan Fashion Week Organization. The Pokémon Installation developed, incorporates its advanced technology and entertainment power with the sophisticated images of Yoshiokubo.

"There are so many clothes in the world, people continue to buy them and wear them in their daily lives. The overabundance of clothing diminishes the pleasure to wear the clothing and to get dressed. For this, I love to create something that makes sense to people the true meaning of the details and the fit, and I hope to communicate this personal vision at the Pitti Uomo fashion show. " - Yoshio Kubo says.

Yoshio Kubo graduated from the Philadelphia University’s school of Textile & Science in 2000. After working for several years in New York as an assistant designer for haute couture fashion house "Robert Danes", he came back to Japan to create his own label in 2004. In September 2008, he presented “yoshio kubo spring/summer 2009 collection” for the first time at Tokyo fashion week. Following his success, he showed his men’s collection fall-winter 2017/2018 at the Giorgio Armani’s Theater during Milan fashion week in January 2017. Further, he recently unveiled a new collection in collaboration with leading sportswear brand PUMA, “Yoshiokubo by PUMA” this March.
