ITALY / Florence: The International Woolmark Prize at Pitti Uomo

Following the success of last year’s final in Paris, the International Woolmark Prize returns to Florence in January 2018. The global fashion award event is to be held on the first day of Pitti Uomo, the menswear and womenswear global winner will be announced inside the Stazione Leopolda.

The two winners will each receive AU$200, 000 (€128, 500) to assist in developing their business as they will be the two chosen finalists from numerous international emerging designers that entered the competition. The finalists will further see their winning collections promoted through the International Woolmark Prize retail partner network. The six menswear finalists and the six womenswear finalists designs will be evaluated by a panel of the best fashion industry leaders.

A newly introduced Innovation Award powered by Fashion Tech Lab, will be awarded to the finalist who uses the most experimental and advanced method to help reduce its social and environmental footprint. The winner will receive AU$100, 000 (€64, 200) as well as being presented with future business opportunities. The Woolmark company focuses on supporting supply chain partners that assist in developing innovative wool fabric and yarn while they continue to support emerging design talent.
