Madrid Fashion Week took place from April 8 to 11 with a hybrid format

Madrid fashion week was held from April 8 to 11 at Ifema Convention Center and other locations in the city of Madrid, thanks to a rigorous security protocol. The 73rd edition of the Spanish fashion week, organized by Ifema Madrid together with the Madrid City Council, took place with the implementation of health restrictions due to Covid-19 for four days with a reinforced hybrid format, which has combined face-to-face shows with 6,000 attendees and online presentations. The 34 designers, who comprised the official calendar, presented their collections with all the health guarantees.

The event also had a great digital impact through the official MBFWMadrid website that included high-quality content such as the fashion talks between fashion professionals moderated by the journalist Carmen Mañana; trends captured by expert eyes in the street style section by well-known figures who attended the runway; fashion lessons, with the tips and teachings of the designers participating in the official calendar.

Among designers in the schedule of Madrid fashion week, Andrés Sardá who presented a fashion film accompanied by a performance, the Sevillian firm Fernando Claro, Otrura (which was awarded the L'Oréal Paris Award for Best Collection), Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Hannibal Laguna, Custo Barcelona, Maya Hansen, and Brain & Beast. The brand Maite by Lola Casademunt and the sustainable and genderless label Pablo Erroz presented for the first time at MBFWMadrid.

Roberto Verino, García Madrid, the Nudes collection created by Ense students and Eduardo Navarrete, María Lafuente together with Pilar Dalbat, Yvan Andreu, Dominnico and Buj Studio were part of the OFF program of the official calendar.

Finally, Rubearth, the label of the young designer Gabriel Nogueira, which presented the collection called Fat Man and inspired by the atomic bomb during the Allianz EGO day, won the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent Award, the prize dedicated to the talent and creativity of young designers. The award includes a sum of money of €3,000.
