The inauguration of the contemporary art space, which was delayed several times by the Covid-19 crisis, will officially be on May 22 at the Bourse de Commerce in Paris, in the city’s former commodities exchange (later became the Chamber of Commerce).
The museum, a space of 10,500 square meters, will house around 10,000 works of François Pinault, many of these have already been exhibited in Venice, either at the Biennale or in Pinault’s museums. The collection includes features paintings, sculptures, videos, photographs, audio works, installations, and performances.

"The opening of the Bourse de Commerce, a new site in the heart of Paris to display my collection, marks a new phase in the execution of my cultural project, which is to share my passion for contemporary art with the widest possible audience," said François Pinault.

The exhibition including pieces personally selected by Pinault, will be complemented by new work around the building, by artists come from all over the world such as Urs Fischer, Maurizio Cattelan and Philippe Parreno.

The art gallery, designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, to be added to the other two Pinault Collection’s Venice locations, Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana and offers a perspective on the contemporary art collection he has amassed over the past forty years, through a unique programme of exhibitions and events.

I wanted to create an architecture that touches people with its beauty,” said Tadao Ando.
