Tokyo Fashion Week, which will be held from March 14 to 19, 2022, at the main venues of Shibuya Hikarie and Omotesando Hills, along with other original venues chosen by individual brands, will be the first in two years to present a larger number of physical shows than digital presentations. A total of 54 brands (30 brands giving physical presentations/24 brands giving digital presentations includes 17 first-time participants), including two brands (Toga and Tomo Koizumi) presenting through “by R”, the program supporting Japanese brands, sponsored by the Rakuten Group, Inc., will be participating in the Tokyo Fashion Week 2022 AW season, hosted by the JFWO-the Japan Fashion Week Organization.

The Agency of Cultural Affairs of the Japanese government will support the first-ever runway show by Blackmeans, the brand designed by Yujiro Komatsu and Masatomo Agari. Instead, the brand Bed J.W. Ford will be supported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and it will present a digital presentation utilizing the 4D Volumetix filming technology of Crescent, a type of technology which captures human movements from a free viewpoint and documents into film.
