Milan design week usually takes place in April, but the event has been pushed back for the second year in a row due to the coronavirus pandemic and now will be held from June 7 to 12, 2022, featuring installations, talks, events and other exhibitions including Salone del Mobile, the world's most important furniture fair, which this year celebrates the milestone of 60 editions.

The theme of Fuorisalone 2022 will be “Between Space and Time”, a theme that will investigate the dimensions of Space and Time, offering an opportunity for reflection and a stimulus for all the companies that will take part in the event. The theme is an invitation to reflect on the constant changes that regularly impact us and to determine which of those changes are necessary to move towards a sustainable tomorrow.

Design districts

Brera DistrictJune 6 to 12, 2022
Located in the centre of Milan, Brera Design District is one of the most established design districts taking part in Milan design week each year. Building on the “Between Space and Time” theme proposed by Fuorisalone, the district offers its own articulation with “Designing the present, choosing the future”. Reflecting on the value of design in everyday life and its role in defining tomorrow, this edition of FuoriSalone Brera will host over 160 events with internationally renowned designers, exclusive locations, exhibitions and new products unveiled in showrooms within the art district. The symbolic installation of the program presented by Brera Design Week will be Momentum, a project conceived by Stark inside the Civic Aquarium of Brera, in viale Gadio 2, which is a reflection on the relationship between real time and perceived time of human life, in a space where the visitor is invited to ask himself questions about the actions performed in daily life. A shared experience told by light and sound. The installation is also part of the Ocean Week schedule, an appointment to raise awareness among the general public on issues related to the blue economy, on the protection of the seas and oceans, on virtuous behavior towards this natural heritage.
