The French brand Pierre-Louis Mascia will take part in Pitti Uomo 103 with a special event entitled Philocalie, that will be presented on January 11, 2023 from 6pm-8pm in the setting of Palazzo Antinori, which will open its doors of the noble floor to guests for this special occasion. Taking up the etymology from the Greek term, love for what is beautiful, Philocalie wants to be an anthology that encompasses nature, culture, art and fashion and that finds expression on the fabrics made by Achille Pinto, Italian firm developing prints, whom in 2023 will celebrate fifteen years of partnership with the brand.

During the event, in which the Fall Winter 2023/24 collection will be presented, guests will have the opportunity to attend an experiential installation inside an extraordinary and intimate location like Palazzo Antinori. The path is designed to amaze and involve guests in the search for natural beauty, free from any kind of artifice, to be discovered and experienced.

Pierre-Louis Mascia, trained as an illustrator, comes from Toulouse, in France. He created the Pierre-Louis Mascia collection in 2007, in partnership with the Uliassi brothers, owners of the Achille Pinto, an historical textile and printing company, based in Como. His connection with Achille Pinto was decisive and gave birth to a collection of scarves, soon to be followed by a prêt à porter line under his own name. Since then Pierre-Louis Mascia has reconciled technology and craftsmanship, knowledge and know-how, in the design of original, emotionally-charged garments. Pierre-Louis Mascia uses collage to create intricate patterns of surprising visual clarity which he prints allover wearable items. He seamlessly merges the achingly sharp and the softly organic in the same cadre, relying on sudden about-turns, unexpected parallels and optical duplicity.
