The Secret Rooms project organized by trendsetting men's, women's and accessories trade show White Milano, returns again with five protagonists, reaching its 4th edition, which will be held in a dedicated area at Superstudio Più, via Tortona 27, Milano. The five new generation international talents will be carriers of an independent creativity with a strong aesthetic and conceptual impact, able to stimulate the interest of top buyers from all over the world.
As in every edition, the narrative path of the Secret Rooms was renewed, inspired by the stylistic codes of the designers involved from season to season. A scouting project that always receives public approval thanks to an in- depth selection process curated by Massimiliano Bizzi and the White creative team, taking into account important aspects such as innovation of stylistic codes, sustainability, a non- conformist vision with an international footprint.
Dreaming Eli
Launched at White last September, Dreaming Eli carries the message of body positivity, female empowerment, and sexual freedom. Her collections touch on the themes of independence, emancipation and freedom of expression, enhancing the charm inherent in all the contradictions that are hidden in femininity.
Riz Poli
Already its name, which literally means lucid laughter, says it all, was created with the aim of bringing nourishment to the mind, through the extraordinary instrument of fantasy revolutionizing everything that represents the ordinary in life, including the wardrobe. Creativity and innovation are the path and the ultimate goal through which to rework all the references from the surrounding environment and digital life, to create one's own singular universe and express one's own identity. Sport, art, rave, sexy, feminine and masculine are the elements that come together in the designer's storytelling. "This season I imagined a woman coming out of an outdoor rave, walking through the woods and suddenly transcending into a fantasy world. All her senses are amplified, everything seems familiar but is different".
Studio Pansters
Founded by the Dutch designer Lieke Pansters, a fashion design graduate from the ArtEZ University of the ArtS in the Netherlands and an expert in hand-weaving techniques applied to fashion and interior design. Each piece is a hymn to imperfection in which the traces left by the craftsman's hands are deliberately visible, making them different and unique.
Romeo Hunte
The brand is already the object of attention for the world's biggest retailers, including Net-A- Porter, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman and expresses the perfect mix of creativity and practicality. Loved by celebrities such as Beyoncé, Lewis Hamilton, Jennifer Hudson, Hailey Bieber, and even the former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. A guest at the Met Gala as an emerging talent, he was also nominated as a finalist for the Womenswear Fashion Group International Rising Star Award in 2020.
Olubiyi Thomas
Lagos born, Glasgow raised, London based Olubiyi Thomas attended Central Saint Martins, began his design career at Alexander McQueen in London. As creative director of De Rien, he founded his own brand that takes an artisanal approach to archaic fabrics, defined by raw profiles and a deconstructed, very feminine avant-garde aesthetic. The brand explores stories of multiculturalism and hidden identities, born out of creative director's reflection on his Nigerian origins and Scottish upbringing. Inspired by his heritage, Olubiyi vividly re-imagines the links between British post-colonialism and African cultural history. Each piece is handmade in London and focuses on carefully selected sustainable and handcrafted fabrics.
Romeo Hunte and Olubiyi Thomas are part of the Fashion Minority Alliance project: a non-profit, non-partisan association that works with fashion and beauty companies, brands, organizations and industry players to promote and ensure the advancement of Bipoc (Black, indigenous and people of color community) and historically marginalized creatives to ensure that cultural interchange results in positive, sustainable and long-term change in the industry.
