Fashion Farm Foundation (FFF) continues the successful streak of organising international fashion campaign HKFG (formerly Fashion Guerilla) since 2013 by turning the spotlight on Hong Kong designers in the Paris Fashion Week this season.
The creativity of Hong Kong design talent will continue to shine in front of an international audience of buyers and media in the Fashion Week through the special program HKFG Edition. Three emergent designers presented in physical format their FW 2023 collections during a special event held on Feb. 28, in Paris, 11 Rue Béranger: Demo, Pabepabe, Yat Pit.
Demo
Founded in 2014 by designer Derek chan, Demo is a unisex brand. Classical elements are contrasted with contemporary styling to subvert stereotypes, champion gender fluidity and create Demo's signature: soft masculinity. Every Demo design offers more than meets the eye and defies expectations with beauty, eloquence and resolve. Traditional silhouettes and patterns are deconstructed so wearers can transform themselves in designs that link modern life and classic literature with influences from nature and poetry. Using traditional materials in refreshing new ways, designs include handmade embellishments and embroidery, which come together in a symphony of tailoring, creative inspiration and self-expression.
Pabepabe
PabePabe is an art accessories brand established in 2019. Inspired by daily life and object, the brand creates design by combining ready-made products and a strong visual aesthetic. Established in 2019 by Xing Liu, Pabepabe is a brand specialized in leather bags. Gained both bachelor and master degrees in Central Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied fine art and often produced works for art exhibitions and theatrical performances, Xing believes that creation is not limited to artistic creation in a single language. He is willing to find various interesting mediums to enrich his ideas.
Yat Pit
Fashion designers Jason Mui and On-Ying Lai have created their Hong Kong-based brand Yat Pit in 2022 with their first brush stroke. Creating a collection to inspire their audiences’ interest to reconnect with Chinese tradition and culture. The ideas of Chinese clothing are redefined and proposed in terms of new silhouettes, materials and their personal sense for style. Not complete elegance but always with a touch of humour and imperfections in their approach. Their combined vision is to create a new expression with classic Chinese dressing, to build a new dialogue that can be understood for today. To bring Chinese dressing into people’s everyday wardrobes and connect ideas of the East and West together.
