Held from February 24 to 27, 2023, ready-to-wear and accessory trade show White Milano drew 18.000 visitors in Milan with 8 percent more foreign buyers to a winter session which marks a return to its origins focused on qualitative research and internationalization.

The fall-winter 2023-2024 event, sponsored by the City of Milan, was also made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation (Maeci) and Ice-Agency for the Promotion Abroad and Internationalization of Italian Companies and in partnership with Confartigianato Imprese. Among the most significant presences were the buyers of the main department stores and boutiques worldwide, such as Antonioli Group, Le Bon Marché (France), Autograph (Uk), Matches Fashion (Uk), Cloppenburg (Germany), David Jones (Austria), Pauw (Holland), Maxwell&Co (Usa).

"The energy atmosphere that can be breathed on those days and the return of the big names of international buyers makes us understand that the selection strategy adopted on quality over quantity is right," said Massimiliano Bizzi, founder of White. "With this in mind, I remain positive on the path taken: Milan is able to create new potential for development and growth in the international fashion scene."

"The selection of the designers chosen for the Secret Rooms, Olubiyi Thomas, Romeo Hunte, Dreaming Eli, Riz Poli, Studio Pansters, confirms the expertise of White team’s scouting and selection work, with the aim of bringing out the rising stars of the fashion scene," Bizzi added.

Among the brands presenting their collections in White's lofts there was Avant Toi, the label founded in 1994 by the siblings Fiorella and Mirko Ghignone within the Liapull group, which showcased the new creations dedicated to the contemporary woman in an evolved aesthetic key and qualitative research that is expressed through unique pieces, innovative design and unexpected volumes.

Denim, the great protagonist of this season, was presented through two strong but diametrically opposed interpretations: on the one hand, that of the Los Angeles Vintage team, which finds its first inspiration in street markets and takes shape through an eco-sustainable project using existing garments, selected with the support of one of the most important warehouses in Los Angeles such as Torgom. On the other, the one interpreted by new generation designers including Nelly Serobyan produced by Zakaryan Jeans Llc and Inga Manukyan produced by Nanman Llc, who from Armenia and Moldova have given new prestige to this fabric, reworked in a couture key.

Among the new entries of this season Bunzaburo, who brought his personal version of the art of Shibori tie-dyeing, with a collection dedicated to the contemporary woman. Nizhoni's handmade knitwear is made up of 50% high quality recycled yarns and knitted by expert hands in Europe, supporting small communities, ethical work and a sustainable lifestyle.

And again, the footwear brand of high craftsmanship founded by Marianna Mazza, who presented her new collection of Jewel Shoes. The Suk, at the industrial spaces of Base-Ex Ansaldo, via Tortona 54, characterized by a warm and welcomimg atmosphere of a scenic setting which reproduces a Middle-Eastern Suk, was an original stage to introduce smaller, research companies in the field of fashion, accessories, lifestyle, beauty. Among them, Maison Rode, the brand that produces necklaces 100% sustainable, Sitting Suits that creates quilts made from chemically tested fabrics, and padding made from 100 % post-consumer recycled plastic bottles, or Rpet. In addition to Glovetoo gloves, a handcrafted project by Valentina Ambrosi, who hand paints each item and customizes it with bangs or bijoux, and Nogoon's artisanal knitwear.

Other initiatives included the participation of five Norwegian talents in the presence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Italy Johan Vibe, at the panel The Indigenous Way held at Mudec-Museo delle Culture, realized in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada in Italy and IFA Indigenous Fashion Arts. The event addressed the theme of creativity of Canada’s indigenous First Nations, in the presence of Ambassador Elissa Golberg, and exhibiting designers.
