Maura Basili is the new president of Camera Buyer Italia-Cbi, the trade association that unites and serves the major Italian multi-brand stores. A management consultant with extensive experience and a past as a fashion-sector entrepreneur, Maura Basili has worked for over 30 years with the most important international luxury brands, including Burberry, Missoni, Valextra, Lvr, Nike and Cwf, supporting the conception of business development strategies geared towards company growth, international expansion and digital transformation. One of the promotors of Camera Buyer Italia’s founding in 2000, and of Top Retailers, the association’s vehicle company, Basili has supported the promotion and protection of multi-brand boutiques in Italy and abroad.

The first woman to lead Camera Buyer Italia, Maura Basili will take the reins from Giacomo Santucci, who served two terms as president. She will be supported by a young board made up of owners of some of Italy’s most important multi-brand luxury boutiques: board members Angela Vitale (Vitale Aosta), Ginevra Gozzoli (Bernardelli Stores), Marcello Cammalleri (Cammalleri Group)and Marcello Costa (Blondie); arbitrators Alessandro Lattuada (Lattuada), Bruna Casella (Bernardelli Stores) and Roberta Valentini (Penelope); and treasurer Angelo Pio Cammalleri (Cammalleri Group).

"Over these 23 years, Camera Buyer Italia has done a brilliant job of promoting and safeguarding the excellence of Made in Italy. We can draw important lessons from the past, but now it’s important to work on the present, to continue to build new opportunities, synergies and strategies that will let us face and overcome the challenges of our time,” said Maura Basili. “I am a great believer in teamwork, so I wanted a board of directors made up of successful young entrepreneurs supporting me in this adventure, they’ll bring new ideas and new energy to the Cbi, and they’ll be our best ambassadors to the rest of the world, taking us forward into the future.”
