The Tortona district, which will be held from April 7 to 13, 2025, is preparing to welcome the public of Fuorisalone 2025. Established brands, niche brands, and artistic and artisanal realities explore new perspectives on contemporary design, fostering a dialogue that merges aesthetics, technology, and functionality. “Zona Tortona” is characterized by different organisations: Superstudio, Tortona Design Week, Base Milano, and Tortona Rocks.

SUPERDESIGN SHOW

Superdesign Show is ready for a dynamic and surprising new edition, curated by Gisella Borioli and with art direction by Giulio Cappellini. Over 70 designers and creatives will arrive in Milan from 10 countries and 3 continents to showcase more than 20 projects, with a particular focus on what will happen in the future, sustainability, material innovation, and the union between artisanal techniques and modernism. Among the highlights will be the impressive project by Lexus, which integrates the world of luxury automotive into a dreamy and poetic setting, where the sounds of nature and the heartbeat come together; the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures in the projects by the Hong Kong Interior Design Association (HKIDA); creativity of Thailand with Slow Hand Design Thailand; Materially with its innovative and sustainable materials, the result of years of research; students from the Istituto Marangoni exploring the relationship between design and technology, creating dynamic environments that meet the emotional and physical needs of users.

TORTONA DESIGN WEEK

Under the theme "Design rEvolution: Creative Connections," the event celebrates the power of connections in the design world, bringing together disciplines, ideas, and visions to create a week of discoveries and inspiration.
The event is conceived as a dynamic laboratory where design is no longer an isolated act but an ongoing dialogue between technology, creativity, and social impact. Sustainability, new frontiers of aesthetics, and functionality will be the pillars of this evolution, breaking disciplinary boundaries to propose new perspectives and languages.

Konzepthaus, a reference in creative consulting, will launch the "Haus of Automotive" project, dedicated to the future of mobility, with a program including a conference on April 7, focusing on the evolution of materials.

An immersive and sensory experience will take center stage at Ploom, where Connected Sensations will transform design into an emotional narrative. Through digital art, interactive effects, and multisensory installations, Ploom will invite visitors to explore the connection between experience and design, focusing on innovation and sensory perception.

Ombra will experiment with innovative lighting solutions, combining technology and energy efficiency to enhance outdoor spaces, while Hilti, a global leader in construction technology, will make its debut at Fuorisalone with the Hilti Hero Hub, an interactive experience blending art, technology, and innovation.

Lechler will present "Color Design - The Way of Living Emotions", a chromatic journey that transforms color into a tool for emotional design.

BASE MILANO

Base Milano presents the fifth edition of We Will Design, a major platform dedicated to emerging design talents, featuring speculative installations and collaborative practices. Projects by designers, performers, schools, universities, and international institutions will offer an innovative perspective on the theme Making Kin. Inspired by Donna Haraway’s philosophy, this concept explores new forms of kinship beyond speciesist and anthropocentric boundaries. Projects include Temporary Home, Exhibit, The Camp, Another Week.

TORTONA ROCKS

To mark its tenth anniversary, Tortona Rocks revolutionises the concept of exhibition and storytelling. With Unframed Design, the event strips itself of any predefined theme, embracing an approach that celebrates spontaneity and immediacy as tools to inspire and engage the public.

In Opificio 31, Iqos presents a surprising new take on design. Curious X: Sensorium Piazza, a large-scale, monumental installation created in collaboration with that reinterprets the concept of the typical Italian plaza through a dialogue between art, technology, and design. The installation embodies Iqos's focus on innovation and Seletti's experimental approach, creating a dynamic environment in which the public plays an active role.

Also in Opificio 31, À.RIA. A medium for connection is an immersive journey in which light, matter, and perception intertwine to create invisible links between spaces and people. This new interior design project by Archiproducts Milano, curated by Studiopepe, transforms air into an element of connection through iridescent surfaces, dynamic reflections and constantly changing materials. Over 50 international brands participate in the exploration of design, fostering an experience that transcends the conceptual and functional boundaries of interior design. Leading names include Brionvega, Dooor, Sixinch, and Pulkra.

Ikea returns to Fuorisalone 2025 with a double exhibition at Via Vigevano 18, exploring how Democratic Design can have a lasting impact on everyday life. The event is divided into two distinct spaces: the debut of a special collection that unites innovation and tradition, and the Do Something. Change everything. exhibition, designed by Midori Hasuike and Emerzon, which invites us to reflect on the transformative power of everyday choices. The exhibition depicts quality, sustainability, and accessibility as pillars of change, demonstrating that even the smallest decisions can contribute to a better future.

The Fuorisalone has always been an opportunity to discover new realities. This year, Tortona Rocks hosts the Turkish company Snoc, making its debut at Milan Design Week, presents the 2025 Collection, uniting design and nature through a refined and timeless aesthetic. The 2025 programme also makes space for vertical mobility with Schindler X8, thanks to which the conventional lifts and design limitations of the past become a distant memory. The installation designed by the Habits studio will present new opportunities for architecture and movement in urban spaces. Not just technology: because time does not erase, but rather it waits: what has been forgotten can shine again, ready for new stories and new admiration. All'Origine, a brand specialising in European objects from the 20th century, presents a pop-up shop and installation together with the PetriPaselli duo, who explore the fate of small, forgotten treasures.
