The 97th edition of Pitti Filati, which was held from July 01 to 03, 2025, closed with over 3,300, visitors of which approximately 1,700 came from abroad (from more than 50 countries, representing 51% of the total), at the same high levels compared to a year ago, while Italians recorded a slight decline in line with the forecasts of the day before.

“It was a beautiful and lively edition of Pitti Filati,” said Raffaello Napoleone, ceo of Pitti Immagine, “in the wake of the results of the last editions. There is awareness among the operators that the Italian spinning industry is going through a phase of adjustment, which is a clear reflection of a difficult economic situation for the fashion sector. But at the same time, in these three days at the Fortezza, among the stands, there was great dynamism: the desire to discover creative and innovative yarns and to learn more about the services offered by the 130 exhibiting companies. There was also a sense of trust, born from coming together to give concrete answers to the market. Moreover, the confirmation of foreign presence, with the style offices of the most important brands and fashion houses, is a further important signal that goes in this direction. We are already working on the next edition, to ensure that the international spinning and knitwear world finds even more effective solutions at Pitti Filati to give new impetus to the next seasons.”

“Pitti Filati confirms itself as a fundamental meeting point for the international knitwear community, which unites spinners with the style offices of fashion companies, passing through knitwear factories, textile machinery, and all the other key professionals in knitwear creation, up to the world of training," added Agostino Poletto, general manager of Pitti Immagine. "The buyers who arrived from over 50 foreign countries also found many stimuli for their research at this edition, starting from the proposals of the spinning mills: stands full of creativity not only in the product but also in the layouts of the presentations, in many cases, true multisensory experiences. As always, an unmissable destination on the Fortezza route was the Spazio Ricerca, D-TALE, curated by Angelo Figus and Carrie Hollands, Carrie Hollands (knitwear and yarn management) and Manuela Sandroni (general coordination), as were the highly appreciated areas CustomEasy - with the new frontiers of customization, a special space curated by the expert Maurizio Brocchetto, the Knit Club section dedicated to a selection of the best Italian knitwear factories, and Vintage Selection with its research into the fashion of the past. The final event of the CFMI Academy 2025 also had great participation, a project to train young entrepreneurs born from the collaboration between the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana and UniCredit, with Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS together with Polimoda as Educational Partners, which gave visibility to 5 innovative entrepreneurial ideas proposed by as many groups of students from Italian fashion academies and schools.”

Among the events and initiatives organized during the days of Filati to highlight, the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Lineapiù and the 25th anniversary of Biella Yarn, and the award ceremony for the winners of the XVI edition of “Feel The Contest 2025-Master Edition”, promoted by Feel The Yarn. Winners were selected by a jury of 9 international professionals:
Avery Zhang of the London College of Fashion won first place paired with Manifatture Sesia, and Lan Krebs of The Swedish School of Textiles won second place alongside Filatura di Pollone; Melina Shibli of Istituto Marangoni Firenze was the Social Winner, the most voted online, linked to Alpes Manifattura Filati. The award was given by the new president of the Consorzio Promozione Filati-CPF, Leonardo Mannelli of Casa del Filato, at his first institutional commitment.
